It’s hard because I love them both. The Aztecs is a better story plus Bad Ass Barbara. The Romans is funnier and lighter.

I love both these stories but The Aztecs is the better written drama.

Nooooooo! The Gunslinger should have won.

Well, A Town Called Mercy is okay…and it is better than The Gunfighters but I’m not sure how that’s relevant here…

Since there’s a winner, I’ll just go ahead and take off the 20 hour limitation…

Do “A Town Called Mercy” or “The Aztecs” have a fantastic song that updates during the episode? I think not!

Yes, that was a large part of my voting it down… :stuck_out_tongue:

The song is great in the first episode but when it starts slowly narrating various deaths it just gets silly.

And it does give us Peter Purves’ comedy singing, so there is that.

The accents are the biggest problem to me.

Yeah, if the song had just been in there once or twice, I’d have been fine with it. The endless repetition was the problem. I’d probably enjoy a cutdown version of the serial more.

It does also, I’ve found, work better at one episode a week rather than all four in one go - as god intended.

Yeah, that’d probably help. I was watching it all in one sitting while trying and failing to exercise on an exercise bike.

No, it is the repetition that makes it good. At first, it was okay, but after episode 2 I did not like it but after the last episode I loved it!!!
