Alright You asked for it.
Quick rundown of NiGHTS. This is a series of games made by Sonic Team (yes, the people who made/make Sonic games) Following a genderless fantasy jester (NiGHTS) helping people with their mental health in a world of dreams. We’re bloody STARVED for content with a grand total of two games. Both games are really fun, I highly recommend them. This story takes place after the second game (Journey of Dreams) because I get to do whatever I want with the characters and continuity.
In terms of Doctor Who, though. This takes place during the Second Doctor’s fabled “Season 6B” era, in which he’s travelling alone and doing missions for the Time Lords. I really became obsessed with this period thanks to the 2DA range from Big Finish. (Side note, this takes place in the Big Finish continuity of Season 6B)
I really want to write an actual story (dare I use the term fanfiction) about them meeting. Whether that be a short domestic story or a full-on crossover with an ongoing narrative. I find both NiGHTS and the Doctor to be very similar characters, specifically Doctor no.2. Both are in a sense on the run and outcasts from their own people, impish and clownish figures who aren’t as silly as they seem, while also just being funny people to be around, and frequently sticking their oars in because it’s the right thing to do. To me, the Second Doctor and NiGHTS are the only duo that actually get along. They love each other’s company and get on like a house on fire. Any other incarnation though, either NiGHTS annoys them to death, or they annoy NiGHTS.
