Ah but the prolonged suffering
I have no Idea about Eris, but I need Romana III back (even if I haven’t met her yet, I just know she will be great )
You are in for a treat
I would sure hope so! I am getting close..
I voted Romana iii and regenerated Eris but Leela getting adopted by horrible CGI monsters has me laughing so hard I’m crying
CG Omega and CG Sutekh. Sutekh isn’t a terrible redesign and Omega could have been a lot worse.
- More TV episodes yearly (with a partner company such as Disney)
- Less TV episodes yearly (BBC only)
Modern tv really suffers from the decreased runtime, so more episodes definitely
I mean, 8 episodes is already barely acceptable, we need more!!!
I depends a bit on how the deal is made but if it is like the current Disney deal I just want more episodes.
I think 8 is perfectly acceptable, as someone who’s used to British shows
Yeah, it does not suit Doctor Who. It’s hard to be a Monster of the Week type of show when there are barely any weeks…
as the brazillian saying goes, “geral achou paia”
American shows have like 8 episodes too anymore, I think it’s a general industry problem. I grew up with shows with like 20+ episodes a season so it’s very noticeable to me
Yeah that’s a major difference like I didn’t watch much american tv at all growing up and I’m actually really offput by shows that have LOADS of episodes (unless they’re comedies like 30 mins thats fine).
Doctor Who needs the extra episodes count in order to do what it does best: experimentation
Doctor Who needs the “fillers”, more than any other show!
I’m also used to British shows but imo DW just hasn’t proven itself to work as well with 8 as it has with 10-13 so I’d like a return to the larger format if there’s a way to do it sustainably and in a healthy way for cast and crew
I’d argue it worked with less, Flux worked really well. Ofc the difference was it was serialised though. I think 10 would be a nice number and work well, more might be unrealistic. Anything more than 13 would really be overkill though.
I know that Flux’s reception is more mixed though, plus as you say it was serialised. I also personally didn’t think it worked as well as the traditional NuWho format, which is why I said that phrasing as opposed to just saying “doesn’t work at all”
I would argue that it did not work with Flux, but that is more because of the writing and the state of the world at the time. But the most important thing is that I don’t want it to be serialised.
