I do hope it changes in the future re: the airtime, I think it will one day whether its sooner or later I just have faith I guess. I’m trying to let it not impact me, but its tricky as I say my routines all to pot with how it used to be with watching TV Who!
I do hope RTD bows out after S3, I do think maybe the year gap could’ve been better placed post-60th rather than post-S2 (assuming we’re in for a year gap) to further ensure S1 was a smash hit.
I can just imagine you sitting on the sofa saying “The T-Rex is far too high definition! Why can’t they make it out of clay like the good old days?”
Well, if we have the above dino, I can guarantee you that soon enough, you will have 0 episodes a season, and DW will return to being a laughing stock!
I think even a boost to ten would be fine/ample enough for me? Didn’t RTD say something in DWM how it would start at 8 and it would increase I swear he did, so who knows! I do feel like the future of this era is a bit up in air. I also really hope one day we get another Key To Time / Trial / Flux especially since the doors been opened for it to be done in New Who!
I completely agree. Am I the only one who thought that dinosaur looked terrible? Look at how tiny and skinny its arms are! I much prefer the practical effect models.
Aww don’t be so mean to the poor dino it’s not their fault
(I think technically the arms are the right size, they are supposed to be tiny)
They’re supposed to be tiny, but not quite that much. I also think this dino is a little skinny. I thought we left the malnourished dinos with visible neck veins and no lips in the past.
We need resident dino expert @DarthGallifrey to clear up this mess!
Plus we would never be able to get a new writer or showrunner if they had to have listened, read, and watched thousands of hours of content.
(And I don’t think “fan consultant” is a road that should be tread… again… )
Big Finish is great, but I don’t think the main televised show should adhere to their copious output.
If (I said if) Susan returns next season I would be okay with them working from a basis that last Susan and the Doctor saw each other was in the Five Doctors, and disregard 8 and Susan ever meeting.
i love though that if susan meeting 8 is retconned so is new who no longer canon cause 8 mentioned lucie/tamsin on screen - thank you moffat
Nah it’s cos a crack in time opened up and swallowed all the 8/Susan adventures, simple.
I agree that if Susan comes back - and I really, really hope she does - it would make no sense for her to say “Hello Doctor I last saw you when you were Paul McGann” because the majority of the TV audience would not have a clue what was going on.
It’s more impactful too if they had been almost 60 years apart.
personally thats when i’d lose the rag because its detrimental to 8’s character, and referenced on screen.
Was that not earlier in their time stream? I thought that Dalek’s invasion of earth was still the last time.
That’s, uh, not how that works.
Guess I’ve never really thought about it.
Carole Ann Ford looks about 20 years older in the Five Doctors so I guess I just assumed it was later for her, and she was time scooped from 22nd century Earth.
BTW I find it funny that the 2nd and 3rd Doctor doesn’t give a ■■■■ that they see Susan again in that story
isn’t it ?
Well it was referenced in a minisode, thoroughly brilliant one, but still not on the “main show” as such…
