Well, the other options besides safe are “questionable” and “explicit”, and there’s a lot of pictures in general with those tags, too, so if you don’t want to see them, including “safe” is generally a good idea.
Artists often do multiple versions of pictures, too, where one version is safe and the others aren’t so much. A lot of times you can look at them and go “you know, if that rock wasn’t there…” or the like.
