This was definitely one of the ones on the worse side… maybe the next one won’t be terrible?
Do you have in mind which one we are gonna do next or are we gonna vote on it? Just realized that Ranked Choice is perfect for choosing the next boom
We will probably do the next Eleventh Doctor one. I need to figure out how to do the next Sixth before doing that and we have done a lot of Ten.
“Damn this certainty decided are destiny” - 11th doctor this book
That was it?!? ![]()
I had a little peekaboo into some of the other paths, and it turns out we were a bit unfortunate. We could have met other characters. We could have seen the Doctor get cloned. We could have got into actual danger.
Damn can’t believe that the title really did refer to that snowball fight we missed
That’s the trouble with only reading these once. They are kinda designed to be re-read multiple times.
Still waiting for @MrColdStream to organise a re-read of the Kraken one ![]()
What…?
What even happened, I’m so confused.
I wonder if the snowball fight is the big fork in @AlfieSigma’s map of the story.
It won’t be if we do our own…![]()
And possibly this one more than once, given most of the “choices” we faced were really non-events, more flip-a-coin toss-ups than decisions about which direction we want the story to go.
should we actually seriously all group together to do this ? We can’t do a worse job than the ones we’ve read so far ![]()
Even if it doesn’t makes sense, it would probably be a hell of a lot more fun. And we could make some actual choices! I like Jae’s idea of people taking turns to write something each time, means it’s not all on person, it would be more collaborative
It would be fun, I could even make it an interactive feature on the site, you click a button to read the next section…
I used to make choose-your-own text adventure games on my C64 in BASIC when I was a kid.
I’d be down for it for sure!
I think the main question would be if we want to write the whole thing at once or if we want to let the choices (with potential free form answers) influence the story we write, more in the sense of a written roleplay game almost. I think both approaches would be fun
Nope. They both lead to the same two choices. It’s crazy that most of our choices doesn’t make any difference. But that’s also kinda real life?
That got deep quickly ![]()
I agree that both kinds would be fun. We could also come up with a rough outline/plan and let individual people write each section. That way it’s still open-ended, but there is a something for people to follow to give them ideas/help them if they get stuck.
We could do a vote, to see what people are more interested in?
