That Fireman Sam was the first thing I also thought of when I read this. Imagine the joy of the Doctor meeting a fireman named Sam and someone named Alonso. Next should be a postman named Pat and a builder named Bob…
I just realised that I never shared my opinions on these stories. So here goes!
I quite enjoyed Unearthyl Things and how it’s esentially a sneaky take on a celebrity historical.
Unearthly Things is a gorgeous comic with an evocative setting and a fun twist on the celebrity historical. The story itself is fairly basic, with a forgettable villain and underdeveloped supporting characters, but the stunning artwork and strong portrayal of the Doctor make it an enjoyable read.

Hyperion Empire has that large scale series finale feel to it. Fire monsters, Fireman Sam, UNIT, big stakes - i’ts all here!
Hyperion Empire delivers high-stakes action, clever twists, and a solid supporting cast, making for a satisfying comic book finale. While the Hyperions are not the most memorable villains, the bleak atmosphere, strong world-building, and fiery set pieces more than make up for it. The rough artwork and Clara’s somewhat detached presence hold it back slightly, but overall, it’s an enjoyable ride.

Relative Dimensions is a fun, if unremarkable festive adventure with a returning villain and some wacky set pieces.
While Relative Dimensions is a beautifully illustrated and enjoyable festive romp, it lacks depth and strong character work. The Toymaker’s return is a fun addition, but the story itself is fairly simple and doesn’t leave a lasting impact.

What an Improvement over the last two, I think the Series is finally starting to settle in for me, let’s see how each Story is holding up:
Unearthly Things: A pretty nice one, I have to say. Its Artwork is easily the Highlight, and it being on the shorter Side surprisingly helps this one to have a much better pacing than some much larger previous Stories. The Setting is quite delightful, and our Leads work pretty perfect in this Environment, overall a good way to kickstart this Collection!
The Hyperion Empire: Honestly? The Weak Link here. Its Artwork is the big saving Grace, just looking at the Background is a really pleasing for me. The Art itself is overall very nice. The Story? A bit meh, it’s ambitious, and I appreciate it, but I feel like not much is done here to make it Standout, it just kinda ends up reminding me of the very weak first Vol. Which is definitely not a good Thing to say about your longest Story here. At least the panelling has become much more intriguing here as well.
Relative Dimensions: What a delightful one. The Toymaker is quite a Visual Character, and dare I say the Medium of Comic (or Animation for that matter) fits perfect for him. The whole Story is just fun with its Visuals that shake up the formula sporadically before you get bored with said setting. Nothing outstays its welcome and as far as returning Villain Stories can go, this one is just a fun little blast. Especially since this one is taking so much advantage from being a Comic compared to some of the other Stories of his Run. My favorite of the Set and probably of the full first Year if I am being perfectly honest.
