Maybe a Christmas Sci-Fi story?

Let’s see whether Bill is as good at multitasking as Tian evidently isn’t

Okay more on the main topic:

I finished the first of Twelve Docors. It is a great story where Vikki wants to experience a great Christmas!

It wasn’t Christmassy but it did feature a bear, a penguin and a pelican being shot to the moon in a barrel to bring home some green cheese - so I guess it at least was sci-fi adjacent

Sounds fun! I want to hear that story now!

Wohooo, Bill is already turning his kids into sci-fi fans!

Me too! Can we start Bill’s Bedtime Story Club, where we listen to Bill read bedtime stories for us with that beautiful and soothing Danish of his? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Did I miss any?

I really loved 12 Angels Weeping—not all the stories were bangers but most of them were good and some of them were fantastic. Celestial Intervention: A Gallifreyan Noir my beloved!!

The only other one I’ve read is Short Trips: A Christmas Treasury. I remember it mostly being really fun—Never Seen Cairo and All Our Christmases were excellent, standout stories.

There are four Christmas-themed anthologies in the Big Finish Short Trips book series? Four?

I remember using Christmas as an excuse to hang out with friends after school and eat apples lol. But it’s actually discouraged by schools here. Because it’s a foreign holiday. As if kids are converting to Christianity by hanging out (as they usually do but) only a bit later in the evening, and eating apples and cane-shaped candies. It’s so ridiculous.

I’ve read one of the Big Finish ones, and the 12 Doctors.

You might also consider the Adventure Calendar stories, which were published online and are also Christmas themed. I haven’t read them yet, but they are on my list when Christmas gets closer.

Sounds fun. Might do them as an advent calendar in December :santa:

The third one where the Third Doctor, Jo and Mike Yates meats Jackie Tyler during the Christmas Invasion was fantastic! There is a great conversation between Jo and Jackie about what happens to the doctor’s companions when he moves on. Both thought that they/Rose was the first to travel with the Doctor

Listened to Four, Five and Six during the afternoon when I had to do some tasks. They where good but nothing special.

I’m planning to read the Sixth Doctor stories from those books (except Treasury, Ghosts and Christmas Around the World, as I’ve already read them).

ā€œDr Cadabraā€ from Ghosts was fantastic, and in second place I’d put ā€œThe Feast of Seven… Eight (and Nine)ā€ from Treasury and in third ā€œThe Crackersā€ from Ghosts.

Every year I do a bit of a Christmas Doctor Who story binge and I’ve worked my way through the first three Big Finish Christmas anthologies and am about a third of the way through Around the World which I’ll continue with in a couple of weeks when December starts. I also have the Benny Christmas anthology on audio which I’ll listen to a few more of.
