Wow! A choose your own adventure where you actually choose your own adventure?
Preposterous!
Also, 12 would most definitely stand his ground. I always find it quite difficult to envision Capaldi when reading, so I guess I’ll see how I do here.

Tip: just focus on the eyebrows, then everything will falls into place
Well, we’ve already gotten the Night. Can the Kraken be far behind?
Well it seems like I’m in the minority who think standing your ground against a person on horseback riding towards you at speed is a bad idea
I wonder if he gets trampled and then regenerates and this is actually a Thirteenth Doctor story
I’m just glad I’m not the only one now!
I KNOW! That’s exactly why I chose it!
Mad man in a box, remember?
I mean, if it does happen, it would only make the story better…
Or… Sane girl in a box?
Too bad we are not going tho see that
Oh Capaldi 100% stands his ground
What was the last one you read?
Welcome Jon! The other one we did was The Spaceship Graveyard.
Consensus was (and I agree) that most of the choices were pretty silly and sometimes completely pointless, as you’d have the same result.
It was less “what do you do?” and more “what happens to you?”, which is weird from a decision-making standpoint.
Welcome here! We are glad to have you here and are excited to read your book!
Hello Jon, and good to have you here!
Your book is off to a promising start and I’m excited to find out how the adventure develops!
As noted by @kevinwho, we did the very first one of these, The Spaceship Graveyard. The experience of doing it together with others was fun but the story itself left a lot to be desired.
Here’s the thread if you’re interested in finding out what ee thought of the adventure:
Hang on, @Tian’s comment just sank in. Is somebody messing with us, or has the actual author of the book come here to review our decisions?
If it’s the latter, what happens after we finish this one? Do we turn to The Horror of Howling Hill, or do we have to find another author to come hang out with us?!
It is the author of the book but I don’t think he will judge us . I have been messaging a bit with @Jon_Green about what we where going to do. He has also written about it on his blog
Oh my God this is SO COOL.
Welcome to the forum @Jon_Green - we’re all really looking forward to reading this together - quite a few of us bought it especially for this little bit of fun. Hope you enjoy reading our thoughts on the story - and we’ll try to be nice .
I wrote one for that series too. They were very limited because the Doctor couldn’t ‘lose’. However, in Night of the Kraken, failure is most definitely an option.
I won’t be reviewing your decisions - I’m too busy trying to finish another gamebook! (Not a Doctor Who one though.)
Oh no, can’t wait for us to accidentally kill off 12
