“Only” 23 to go…
Sadly this includes Last Day 2 (thanks @AlfieSigma …) and Doctor of War …
But it does give me a reason to relisten to three War Master sets
Oh but you can’t listen to The Lasy Day 2 without The Last Day 1 first, right?
6 hours of my life going towards something nobody likes… All just for one disgusting weasel of a time lord…
Come on, don’t be like that. You might enjoy it! Or at least we’ll sit through this together
The things we do for characters
The Last Day wasn’t that bad (<- guy who zoned out the whole time). It had Benny & Mel interacting. And confirms that Gallifrey Ace could probably regenerate
(I rated it two stars it was that bad)
The Benny and Mel stuff was the only bit I actively enjoyed listening to
I loved it low key and not ashamed of it
What an excellent Question, I am currently trying my best to do the first Doctor as much as I can, as I said some other Time ago aiming to do the Thirteenth Doctor as well since she sadly doesn’t have all that much and I am very close to finishing her!
Outside of that? I might do Victoria and Sam, might even try to do both Romana (I doubt I will finish Romana II any time soon, Romana I? Maybe!) Probably will also try to do most first Doctor Companions, considering I will be doing most of their Stuff anyway
Range-wise I do hope I finish at least 7 this Year (Aiming for the Prose Short Trips & DWM Comics currently)
By the end of the year? Just Romana (all 4+ of her…), since that probably will take the whole year. But after that I’m planning on doing Ace, and Lucie, & at some point probably Leela?
The Last Day’s strongest warrior over here !
Good job! I am still on the first book.
C’rizz, which is just 2 short stories I need to read, but im planning to re listen to all his audios first, take notes, and maybe write some character analysis on him just for fun cause he’s not exactly a straight forward character.
I realised I had access to his 4 DWM stories and promptly knocked em all out the way. (They were ok, btw)
Dan is… an ok companion. He was fun to watch if nothing else, and the evil dan memes that came as flux was airing still give me life. But like. Idk I feel like he needed more time on screen and an exit slightly more dignified than “ok they can’t fit me into POTD, guess im gone now lol”. Maybe after the first season of 13DAs drop they can wrangle John Bishop into recording some set in the interim between LOTSD and POTD.
Back here again on very short notice, but having gotten my paycheck this morning and realising I was basically one tiny purchase away from 100%ing one of my favourite Doctors, I couldn’t say no. The stories involved in finally hitting the mark were… certainly stories. I can’t say you’d be missing much by not indulging in 14’s literary exploits, that’s for sure.
Oh 14. All I can say is that you singlehandedly brought back my love for Who in a way that hadn’t been there for a while. Allow me to get sentimental for a while - when I saw David Tennant, my first and favourite Doctor pop up again on screen back in 2022 after… well, I hadn’t fallen out of love with the series, per se, but had sort of… drifted away from it for a while, I was insta locked in. I spent so much of 2023 hyping up the specials for myself and they did not dissappoint.
I know that Tennant returning as 14 is controversial still, especially considering just who appears to be 16 as of a few days ago, but it genuinely meant so much to me. Hearing my Doctor talking about queer topics and starring in unabashedly pro queer and trans episodes really hits me hard.
And even that aside, the concept of a Doctor so worn out and defeated by what the universe has put them through that they retreat to a previous - relatively short lived - face to get help is super intruiging. It’s like 12 having Caecillius’s face ramped up to a hundred. And again, bigeneration is a very hotly contested topic still but sue me, I find the idea of this incarnation specifically - one that was literally born out of exhaustion and wear and tear - getting a ticket to finally relax for once just so lovely (unless he did actually die in Venice like RTD joked lol).
I will not lie, unless you are a televised episode or your name is The Giggle (novelisation) and you are under this tag thus far, there is probably not much you can offer to a viewer unless they are already a fan of 14. The other two 60th novelisations are fine. The puffin shorts are fine. Liberation of the Daleks is a bit sloppy. But honestly? I don’t think he needs much more (not that I’d complain about a 14DA series on BF, I know you Briggsy don’t pretend you haven’t contemplated it). If any Doctor deserves a break, its this guy.
Anywho read The Giggle novelisation now its peak af
Amen to that!
