I seem to be in the minority here - while I still enjoyed the book, I still found some of the others more to my taste.
It’s probably just a personal thing as I don’t really like body-horror, and as a cat-lover I admit I was put off by the very first scene!
The overall body-count was again very high, although I did really like the unexpected happy ending. But is Rose technically still married though, or did they divorce or get an annullment?
I also noted the irony of the nature of Jack’s “distraction” at the beginning, although it is possible that Roberts may have been well aware of JB’s habits and incorporated it into the story (since it was widely known and - in those days - joked about within fandom).
I agree that while the Das & Jack diaries were amusing, as one of only 3 novels to feature this TARDIS team, it was a shame to have Jack sidelined for most of the book.
Personally as others have said I have no problem separating art from artist, especially as this book was written long before Roberts had caused any controversy (but why do some people decide to torpedo their own careers that way, I just don’t get it!)
