I think closest to Four Doctors Four Companions is Sixth Doctor The Ultimate Adventure and I agree.
For my hyperspecific example, another Worlds of Big Finish.
More from The Land of Fiction as seen in War Master: Escape From Reality.
New Class sets.
And a Blake’s 7 / Who range crossover while it’s still an option.
Honestly I just want more range crossovers. Thunderbirds, even. They did a TV Century 21 audio annual with no Dalek story, feels like a missed opportunity.
Also, the Big Finish published Short Trips (the book ones, from when they had the book rights) to be adapted for audio or released as audiobooks.
This is so true, 7DAs have felt so directionless for the longest time, doesn’t help that The Long Day was as meh as it was. I really want them to get a proper story arc for 7 that isn’t “Oh he’s a bit more morally dubious than other Doctors”.
I think the issue the 7DA has is most of them so far have been preoccupied with very big arcs.
The last day - heavily reliant on chracters previously introduced in the Ace and Mel arc, the Hex arc, and then random chracters like Kane and the Mother.
Cross and Sullivan - the entire Naomi Harry arc hasnt been reliant on thier other appearances, but its definitely trying to link to them.
Then from what Ive heard the other two boxsets - Silver and Ice, and the Carnaki one have been mediore.
Im really hoping Ray will be a fresh start for the range.
Agreed. Although I think introducing her in the final set of the Harry/Naomi arc is silly as I’ve now went and done all the other sets with them and 7 to prepare. I know I didn’t need to probably, but I wanted to fully understand it all. Not that there’s much going on tbh…
On the bright side, you continue to increase your audio stats.
I hope that The Ghostmaker and Pearl from the Torchwood episode “Out of the Rain” appear on audio since they’re still in some film canisters as shown at the end of the episode, and they were delightfully creepy (I love their Emcee and Sally Bowles-esque aeshetic).
Boxsets written by Moffat and Chibnall, like Hinchcliffe presents.
Ooh I’d love to see the show runners writing for Doctors that weren’t part of their era!
For example, Steven Moffat presents the Thirteenth Doctor, Chris Chibnall presents the Ninth Doctor, Russell T Davies presents the Eleventh Doctor…
I feel like Chibnall would be especially good at writing for a classic Doctor (maybe 5?)
