This is amazing news and frankly something to celebrate! Albeit only the first story, but its proof the range will do as well as we expect. A lot of people’s first BF will be this I imagine so might get some life injected into other ranges. (Looking at you Rani Takes on the World).
Awesome. It shows the appeal of this era. The first Fugitive Doctor CD set sold out quickly.
I wonder what the format will be for announcing the next release. Will we get a ‘next time’ segment at the end of each story?
Is there any indication how well other ranges sell? I have never seen numbers like this for pre-release things. E.g. How many Tenth Doctor or Ninth Doctor CDs did they sell?
They don’t say, unless its about to sell out they’ll warn on socials. So depends if any are still around on the site but if they are they probs still have plenty left.
Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 1 sold 5000 physical copies by February 2017, being announced in October 2015, and Volume 2 sold 5000 physical copies by May 2025 being realesed in 2018 (cant find announcement date).
Given that BF has said around 80% of sales are downloads I assume they’ve sold around 5000 copies of 13DA 1. I assume this also has a higher profit margin than the 10DAs due to being 1 story as well, so its definitely good sales-wise.
Is anyone else almost more excited for the CD Extras on this first release than the story itself? Hen-do with Vampires isn’t really my cup of tea (I mean, I’ll still listen to it though). The Extras though, explaining how this came about and stuff, that sounds more interesting to me than the actual story.
No.
I mean, I am still excited for new Thirteenth Doctor adventures, especially from Big Finish. The premise of this first just isn’t as exciting for me as I’d possibly hoped. And then I got to thinking about the CD Extras in general[1], and that got me thinking about what juicy bits of information they might reveal.
how I prefer them after each story than as their own bonus disc covering all the stories in the boxset ↩︎
I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait Jodie Jodie Jodie
Me too , my Doctor is back!!!
I think I’m going to start a countdown for July Third
Just ordered Vampire Weekend!
Tim Foley in YOU I trust.
I thought that you ordered it as soon as possible
I was planning on ordering once I had 100%ed Thirteen, but I didn’t know if I’d have the time, and now the release date has been announced, I decided to just go for it.
Does anyone know what time releases are usually unlocked on the app?
I want to see if I’ll have the time to listen to it when it drops.
About 09:30 am UK time.
That’s perfect timing for me!
