Mary Tamm is of course wonderful and beautiful and talented and perfect and brilliant
I found The Auntie Matter to be one of those scripts which thinks it’s wittier and funnier and smarter than it actually is, and the voice of the idiot son really grated on me, but I agree that it was a lot of fun and I thought the Doctor and Romana interactions were top notch

I love the 4DAs. They are rarely breathtaking (though there are exceptions), but they are also one of the most consistent ranges ever. Good, strong adventures with nice character work. I love what they do with Leela at times. I didn’t like K9 at all, and have even come around the tin rat.

What did K9 ever do wrong
He’s just a silly sassy little guy
But for sure I agree, even stories I’ve been meh about have sometimes done great things for Leela enough to interest me in them again. I’m not a huge Tom Baker fan so I was expecting to do like, five or six of these and get bored and have to alternate, but I’ve been vibing a lot with them actually

The Auntie Matter annoyed me a bit because for all it was aping Wodehouse it was nowhere near as good as actual Wodehouse. Of course, the original is so witty and so full of remarkable turns of phrase it’s impossible to truly replicate but I still felt disappointed! Still fun, though.
