Speculation Time! Looking at the Fourth Doctor Collection on the Big Finish website and I see that next year’s Fourth Doctor season has three releases (same as this year), but the only credited cast member is Tom. Who do you think will be the featured Tardis Team traveling with him next year? My guess is that we’ll finally get a Sarah/Harry team either set in the middle of Season 12 or set between Seasons 12 and 13.

It is Tom’s 50th next year. I think we’re definitely getting the long-overdue series with Sarah. Whether or not the two of them are joined by Harry is going to be the question imo.

Been listening to Series 13 lately. Currently in the middle of Metamorphosis Part 2. I’m enjoying the Series, but I’m not finding myself wowed by it. Naylor is fine as Harry, and I’m enjoying Naomi, but she’s not standing out for me like say, Charley, Hex or Evelyn. What are people’s thoughts on this Series, and on the Harry/Naomi arc in general with its timey-wimey release schedule?

I made a tier list maker for the 4DAs btw!

Ooh, good work! Here’s my take on that:

I enjoy Naylor’s Harry, and I enjoy Naomi too. I haven’t heard their UNIT series, which might give them more character work to deal with, but they’re still pretty solid companions. I enjoyed Harry more with Four and Naomi more with Seven- Naomi’s Ark was really good imo.

The funny thing is, despite the promo about how we got the end (the 7DAs) before the start (the 4DAs) we don’t yet have a final story with the pair. I predict Harry will go home to Earth and Naomi will start a brand new life somewhere in the universe. That’s where their arcs seem to be heading.

Evidently that screenshot didn’t work…

And the answer to what TARDIS Team will be the focus of the 2025 season is Tom and Leela.

I wish they’d use Sadie Miller more as Sarah Jane if possible.

I still remain to be convinced by Miller as Sarah Jane. Which audio is her best work? (It isn’t Once and Future: Past Lives that’s for sure).

While I agree that Sadie isn’t her mother, she’s decent enough in the stories I’ve heard that I don’t mind. I actually think that her first story, the Lost story Return of the Cybermen might be her best.

As for the Fourth Doctor Adventures, I love the ones with Leela, but would love another season or two with Lalla Ward. Or another season with Adric maybe set between Warrior’s gate and Keeper of Traken or between Keeper and Logopolis. That said, I would absolutely love an audio season with Sarah and Harry or even just Sarah.

I would love more stuff with Lalla too but I think it’s unlikely, alas :frowning:

I know. I just feel that they should branch out from Leela a bit. Not that more Leela is a bad thing, Louise is great. I just feel that Tom and Leela is almost overdone by this point.

I liked her in The Gulf & Sontarans vs Rutans: The Children of the Future. I realise now both written by Tim Foley so maybe the writing helps.

I really enjoyed The Gulf also

Looking at the breakdown of these from the Wiki:

Series 1 - Leela
Series 2 - Romana I and K9
Series 3 - Leela
Series 4 - Leela and K9
Series 5 - Romana II and K9
Series 6 - Romana II and K9
Series 7 - Leela
Series 8 - Ann Kelso and K9
Series 9 - Romana II, Adric and K9
Series 10 - Leela
Series 11 - Solo (No companion)
Series 12 - Leela and Margaret
Series 13 - Harry and Naomi
Series 14 - Leela

Out of 14 seasons, Leela has featured in half of them (seven), Romana II in three and K9 in six. Three seasons have featured new companions (Ann, Margaret and Naomi). And Romana I, Adric and Harry have each had a season each. The only TV companion who hasn’t gotten a FDA series has been Sarah Jane, so it’s probably about time she did, if nothing else than for completion’s sake on Big Finish’s part.

Also, we have face the fact that Tom is 90 and probably won’t be doing too many more of these. While I appreciate Big Finish having had the foresight to record a lot of these several years in advance, we don’t really know how much more they have in the pipeline. I’m appreciative of what we’ve gotten, but understand that nothing can last forever. That’s why I think the Audio Novels are a great idea. More of those, and maybe just a new line of Past Doctor novels in general.

The Audio Novels range is also great way for BF to get around the fact that they aren’t allowed to publish written material anymore - they’re technically original novels released as audiobooks only.

It really is. And with their license, they can conceivably do novels for every Doctor except for Fourteen and Fifteen. I wonder if the novel format would work better for Time War stories than audio does?

I wonder if they’d ever recast Romana I?
