I don’t think this is fair at all! For every release this year I can point someone on this forum alone who truly loves that range.
As @Jamie says, if something doesn’t sell they’ll stop making it. For stuff like Rani Takes on the World, I’m glad they did make it even though it didn’t sell widely because I adored it!
For me it’s clear from listening to the behind the scenes interviews and such that every range and every release is made by people who really care and are trying to make something worthwhile.
I am on no one’s side here, but @ClydeLangerRules, I think a better argument for what you’re trying to say (big output = scale down) shouldn’t be against the creative merits of BF’s stories but more the economics of it. If BF is having problems with their bottom line, they should cut back on their output for that reason. They shouldn’t cut back just because certain ranges don’t appeal to certain people (as there’s something out there for everyone).
I first heard “whale” as a term in anime fandom, referring to fanatics (mostly in Japan itself) who buy all the merch they can find. But per the Urban Dictionary, the etymology seems to be from casino patrons in Vegas.
Anyway, the next couple days are very exciting for me, with Vampire Weekend tomorrow and the podcast on Friday, because I’m holding out hope they’ll read my email!
I was going to, but then realised I’d have to buy The Curator vs Fugitive Doctor: Vlinx Tales 1: Evil Earth: Mini Book 1: Romana’s Bad Hair Day: Part 6: Volume 3: Chapter 5 (starring Jon Culshaw and Nicholas Briggs as everybody) first.
No they haven’t, but @Jamie’s post that I was replying to was specifically about the Eight/Charley/Audacity adventures. And thus Charley’s future with Eight is set in stone. Hence my saying:
Yeah. Honestly, all these preordained “No Tension Charley” sets might be desensitising people for when they do Charley Series 3, because people would have it in their heads that there’s no real peril, through countless listens of new NTC[1] sets.
I feel like if that was the reason, the short trip Flashpoint would also have a different name, but wither way its not too important its just a cool tidbit.
