Big Finish Podcast Notes and Misc News Roundup Thread

PODCAST NOTES:

  • Nick and Benji play highlights from the audio recordings of Big Finish Day
  • Nick thinks it would be a good idea to incorporate ideas that Chris Chibnall had for Series 13 before the pandemic necessitated Flux, but admits it would be more of a "just imagine” situation than actual Lost Stories. He says “Let’s see how things develop after Jodie’s done her first series with us.”

What Big Finish I Was Listening to This Week: Vampire Weekend as mentioned above, along with The Fourth Doctor Adventures: Subterranea. I’m also working through the UNIT: Brave New World range as I’ve owned the first two for a while and had the third on pre-order, but had never listened to them. Since the new set has stellar reviews I thought I’d get caught up so I gave the first set a listen and thought it was very solid.

Random Tangents: The Crooked Putter comes back up, and Nick and Benji give me a shout! I listen to this podcast first thing in the morning since they shifted release times, so this was a very pleasant surprise and a great start to my day. They read my description from a few weeks ago of them discovering the “real” Crooked Putter and remark it sounds like an episode synopsis for a sitcom.

I think they happened upon my post via Google Search on one specific occasion so I don’t know if they’ll come back and see this one, but if they do, hello Nick and Benji! Glad to hear you’ve discovered sausage gravy over in the UK (and I hope Nick gets some soon), but I would like to make it clear that sawmill gravy is an entirely different beast from sausage gravy. As far as I’m aware, sawmill gravy is a southern delicacy that uses cornmeal as a base, while sausage gravy uses flour. The latter is the preferred style in the Midwest, though I’m sure some places around here serve the former. Much love from Kansas!
