I’m going to see this on Tuesday! It’s one of my favourite musicals and I can TOTALLY see the Doctor Who vibe.
Specifically the sentiment of telling a story for the sake of the story, no matter the ending - that there may always be a sad ending, but that doesn’t make the journey less impactful. And having hope that maybe this time, things will be different, however impossible that is.
Also I’ve seen many a comparison of Twelve and Clara to Orpheus and Eurydice

Too sleepy to get super into it, but I have been absolutely obsessed with the Master & Leonard Cohen’s “The Future” recently. When I listened to Masterful my jaw dropped because that story fit it even more and there will never be anything I can do to make an amv out of it #audioproblems.

I’ll have to give that a listen! Also rip about the AMV problem. Especially a bummer because I feel like this fandom tends to have less popular animatic and AMV content than some other popular fandoms. Idk why. I basically started this thread because I’d just wrapped up working on a twelfth doctor edit and was wondering if anyone else spent a lot of time thinking about songs and characters together (also I’m the kind of person who loves making character playlists lol).

I will say that song is a bit… Um, dark and complicated, so, content warnings, but- the balance of Chaos and Domination, order and fear of it, is. Fascinating and very Master-y.
I’ve never ever worked on a video edit before - Ok, outside of stuff for middle school- but I did recently start two different doctor who AMVs, and one of them is actually progressing fairly well (…Missy to “ultra graphic super modern girl”.)
The other is- possibly the most ridiculous little passion project ever- I wanted to do something cute and second doctor-y for the wonderful theme song of the (terrible) 1980s star wars droids cartoon. Which I am unreasonably fond of.
I feel you on character playlists- as I said, I’ve been listening to my Master music a bunch recently, and in 2023 my spotify top 10 was just my second doctor playlist… Had to explain to everyone why I was suddenly so into the beatles.
